A low-level editor for the Hudson Messagebase
Version 3 dd. April 1993

--==[[ Warning Warning Warning Warning Warning Warning ]]==--
This program is a low-level editor for the Hudson Message Base
(HMB). It is possible that you corrupt the HMB when you use
this program without caution. There is very limited protection
built in. If you make a mistake, it's your fault. Use at your
own risk! The author will not be responseble for the loss of
anything due to the use of the HMB-Editor.

How to use the HMB-Editor?
First: Edit the configuration-file called HMBED.CTL. It's
just one line and that line contains the path of the HMB, like
'E:\FD\MSGBASE\' (don't type the quotes and don't forget the
backslash at the end of the line!).
Second: Enter HMBED at the dos-prompt and press enter.
You will get a screen like this:

Explaination:
The numbers at the top at the screen are the amount of
memory you've left and the time.
The ≡ and the Window are two pulldown-menus (explained
later).
The @H, @I, @N, @O and @T are shortkeys for bringing
above the window with the MSGHDR.BBS, MSGIDX.BBS, MSGINFO.BBS,
MSGTOIDX.BBS and MSGTXT.BBS. [Instead of typing ALT-H etc, you
also can type ALT-1, 2, 3, 4, 5 for bringing these windows in
front.
And these strange things at the right and bottom of the
screen are Scrollbars. If you click on them with the mouse
you'll see the window scroll.
Pulldown-menus:
If you click on the ≡ or Window (Shortkeys: ALT-SPACE and
ALT-W, you'll get these two menus:

Some common keys:

up, down or scrolls to the top, bottom of the window.
If you're in a dialogbox you can jump to the next/previ-
ous field using the tab or the shift-tab key.
Pressing Enter enters the edit-option. Pressing the
spacebar at MSGHDR.BBS will open the MSGTXT.BBS-window.
Mouse-functions:
Press with the mouse on the scrollbar will let the window
scroll one or more lines, until it's at the bottom or top. You
also can double-click the top-line of the frame and the window
will act like you've pressed F5.
If you drag the lower-right-green thing, the window will
resize.
Clicking on the upperleft-thing, the window will close.
Clicking on the screen will make the gray bar move to
that position.
Double clicking with the right mousebutton will bring up
an editor for that window.
The different windows:
There are five different windows, each able to edit a
different part of the HMB. To see which part you're editing
you have to look at the top of the window.
